The Tectonics Education and Research Laboratory is utilized for practical applications in Structural Geology and related undergraduate/graduate courses. It is also actively used during practical sessions of Design and Project courses.
Additionally, faculty members working on stress-strain dynamics develop and design experimental apparatus in this facility. Various rock specimens displaying both brittle (fractures, fault surfaces, slickensides) and ductile (fold types, lineations in metamorphic rocks) deformation structures are exhibited. These structural specimens provide students with hands-on, visual learning opportunities directly illustrating theoretical concepts.
There is no dedicated technical support staff assigned to the laboratory. Simple and pure shear apparatus developed by faculty members are utilized during Structural Geology courses, with practical sessions conducted jointly by faculty members and research assistants.
The facility is dedicated exclusively to academic education and internal scientific research; no external commercial testing or fee-based analytical services are provided.
Since the laboratory does not provide commercial or third-party testing services, quality assurance/accreditation documents, fee schedules, request forms, and proforma request forms are not applicable.
