The Division of Hydrogeological Engineering conducts educational, research, and practical activities on the origin, circulation, quantity, quality, protection, and sustainable management of groundwater and surface water resources. Core research fields include groundwater flow systems, hydrogeological properties of aquifers, springs, geothermal systems, water quality, and hydrogeochemical processes. Students receive theoretical and applied education in hydrogeological surveys, evaluation of well drillings, pumping tests, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring, and hydrogeochemical analyses.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, isotope hydrology, hydrogeochemical evaluation methods, and numerical modeling techniques are actively utilized to analyze groundwater systems and develop scientific solutions for sustainable resource management.
Furthermore, current research focuses on the impacts of climate change on water resources, drought, water pollution, environmental impact assessment, and monitoring. Collaborations with public institutions, local municipalities, and the private sector enhance professional experience for students.
