Geological Engineering is an engineering discipline that examines the earth's formation, structure, rocks, minerals, fossils, groundwater, and natural resources. Geological engineers work in many fields, such as reducing natural disasters, researching mineral and energy resources, soil investigations, and the safe design of tunnels, dams, and large engineering structures.

Hacettepe Geological Engineering Program currently holds MÜDEK and EUR-ACE accreditation certificates valid until 2031. This means the program is certified by an independent board to meet specific international engineering education standards, providing advantages in overseas equivalence processes after graduation.
Yes. Geological engineering education provides graduates with a broad professional background that enables them to work in different sectors and geographies on an international scale. Today, graduates of our department serve in gold mines in Africa, Central Asia, and Canada; various mining operations in Saudi Arabia and Australia; geotechnical projects in Albania and Georgia; and international oil companies in Northern Europe and the Middle East. Furthermore, our graduates continue their education and research activities at various universities and academic institutions in the USA and Europe.
It definitely provides a significant advantage. The vast majority of scientific articles are in English. Additionally, English is of great importance for students who wish to pursue a master's degree, a PhD, or work in international companies.
