Coal Technology Laboratory

Prof. Dr. Cem Saraç / Fatih Güleç
About the Laboratory

The Coal Technology Laboratory is one of the unique coal geology and technology laboratories in Turkey, operating under the Hacettepe University Department of Geological Engineering.

Within the scope of our laboratory capabilities, numerous Master's and PhD thesis studies, TÜBİTAK research projects, and Scientific Research Projects (BAP) have been successfully conducted on coal geology, non-energy utilization of coals, environmental impacts of thermal power plant residues, and their economic valorization.

In addition to these research activities, joint projects have been actively executed in collaboration with various public institutions, national geological engineering departments, and international universities/research institutes. These studies have yielded numerous high-impact research articles published in SCI-indexed journals.
